How much does a trip to Egypt cost? Tours, tickets and visas, added up
The short answer: The tours in our day-by-day plans add up to USD 309 per person for 5 days, USD 882 for 7, USD 1,103 for 10 and USD 1,163 for 14, at the lowest group rate, plus a USD 30 visa. Add international flights, hotel nights no tour covers, domestic travel and meals. Choose a length below to see each sum.

Each figure is the sum of the starting prices of the tours in one of our day-by-day plans, per person at the lowest group rate, plus the fixed costs below. Solo travellers and couples pay more; your written quote confirms the price.
Every trip in one table (USD per person)
Fixed costs added to every trip:
- Visa on arrival: USD 30. Cash, at approved airports, valid for up to 30 days, per the UK FCDO (read 29 September 2026). The digital visa at Cairo airport costs USD 36 by card; rules differ by passport.
Not in these figures:
- International flights.
- Domestic flights between Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, or the sleeper train: see Cairo to Luxor.
- Hotel nights no tour covers. The cruise includes its three nights on board.
- Meals not listed in each tour's inclusions, and tips.
- Extra tickets, such as entry inside a pyramid.
Official entrance tickets, if you go on your own
Most of our tours include the entrance fees for their sites; each tour page lists what is included. Travelling independently, these are the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' prices for foreign adults. Students pay half.

Prices change; the Ministry's page for each site is the authority. The Grand Egyptian Museum sells its own timed tickets on its official site.
What changes the total
- Group size: every starting price here is per person at the lowest group rate. In our judgement a couple on private tours should expect more per person than a family of five.
- How you travel between cities: the sleeper train replaces a hotel night; a flight saves a day. See Cairo to Luxor.
- The season and the hotels: the cruise and multi-day tours are priced per person sharing, and the ship, the hotels and the season set the quote.
- Ready-made trips: our 7-day tour starts from USD 975 and our 10-day tour from USD 1,675 per person sharing, with hotels and more included.
